Pointy Veil in Pyxis
Captured during my vacations back in April, this striking image showcases a rarely photographed nebula in the southern constellation of Pyxis. There doesn’t seem to be a universally accepted name for it, therefore I dubbed it the Pointy Veil. This structure (part of SH2-312 - also known as the Great Pyxis Nebula) is thought to be linked to the Vela Supernova Remnant. I found this target while browsing a hydrogen alpha survey of the Milky Way and it seemed like a fun thing to photograph!
