Activities

Sharing the sky beyond the image.

Astrophotography is a big part of what I do, but I also care about observing, outreach, and giving people a direct experience with the night sky.

Occultations

Stellar occultation observing

I am part of a local working group observing stellar occultations. These are more technical nights where timing matters: a star briefly disappears behind an asteroid or other object, and coordinated observations help refine its size, shape, or orbit.

Public events

Association observing evenings

I participate in public observing evenings organized by astronomy associations. These nights are about making the sky approachable: showing people the Moon, planets, star clusters, or deep-sky objects and answering the questions that naturally come up at the eyepiece.

The Alps

Independent mountain outreach

I regularly organize my own outreach and sidewalk astronomy events, often in the Swiss Alps. The format depends on the sky and the group, but most evenings are simple and direct: a telescope, clear mountain air, and enough time for everyone to look up.

Talks

Presentations and guided observations

Some evenings include a short presentation before we go outside. I like using those moments to explain what people are about to see, how telescopes work, and why astrophotography can reveal color and structure that the eye cannot easily capture.
