Dust Tail

I captured this image of VdB 152 during a session last August, but I only recently revisited the data — and I’m glad I did. This is one of those targets that rewards both patience at the telescope and care in post-processing.
VdB 152, also known as the Wolf’s Cave Nebula, is a small reflection nebula in the constellation Cepheus. It lies embedded in a dark molecular cloud and is illuminated by a faint star, giving it a soft blue glow. The surrounding region is rich in interstellar dust and faint emission features, which I worked to preserve without overprocessing.
The long, curved structure trailing to the left caught my eye and inspired the title “Dust Tail.” It’s an elegant example of how dynamic and structured these dusty regions can be, shaped by stellar winds and past supernova activity.
