Pickering's Triangle
I’ve been wanting to capture a detail of the Veil Nebula more "zoomed in" for a long time, and I chose this small area known as Pickering’s Triangle.
I planned to process it in SHO (Hubble Palette), but I didn’t like the result at all (this is actually the third time I’ve had this issue with a supernova remnant). So, I decided to incorporate sulfur into the red channel in (SH)OO format, but even then, the structures looked weird. 😅
In the end, I went with the classic HOO.One night, the images just didn’t turn out well—probably due to bad seeing, though I didn’t notice it at the time. I decided it was better to throw those frames out. 😄 So, the data processing ended up being really minimalist. The composition didn’t turn out as I had envisioned; it looked better when planned in the planetarium software!
