Skymap

This image of the North America Nebula (NGC 7000) was captured during a comparative test of the ZWO AM3 and ZWO AM3N mounts.

It’s a mixed acquisition using two different cameras: a color camera was used to capture the Hα and O III channels, while a monochrome camera was employed for the S II layer. The goal was to evaluate mount performance under real imaging conditions while experimenting with a hybrid narrowband workflow.

The dataset consists of several hours of integration, with H and O mapped from the OSC data through narrowband extraction, and S II integrated from the mono camera. The final image uses a modified SHO palette with mild color balancing to preserve the natural contrast between emission regions.

This test also allowed me to check how well both mounts handled tracking and dithering with separate optical trains running simultaneously.
