Hi, I have Lunt Solar100mm telescope, you think is good camera for solar imaging? Thank
if you want to do solar imaging with an h-alpha telescope, a high frame rate monochrome camera will be a better choice. It does not need to be cooled - you'll pay less than this camera and get better results
Does it have a heating resistor around the sensor? I find that indispensable for long sessions in cold, humid nights.
Yes it does
Thanks for the review of this cam, Luca! 👍👍
IMX571 is the sensor of my Pentax K3-III DSLR. This body has an automatic tracking feature, the Astrotracer. It moves the sensor to track the sky. Amazing results, even with a 300 mm lens. No Polar alignment needed.
I wonder how the Pentax Monochrome camera would preform with Hubble filters
No uvir cut glass… just AR
it's UV IR. I believe the first test pieces were AR only but the production model has a lum filter
Looks like a good camera. What I'm waiting for is an APS-C sized sensor with the same specs as an IMX585.
same specs? do you mean the tiny pixels? There's nothing you couldn't do via drizzle integration already now :)
@the_space_koala Also, the low noise and high sensitivity. IMX585 is better than IMX571 for those factors too.
Do the holes in the front match the touptek holes since the rumor is that touptek is the OEM?
it's quite different from the Touptek. On the Touptek you are able to remove that front adapter it comes with, here you cannot. Also the Touptek has the USB hub on the back
@the_space_koalaI'm talking about the ability to mount a touptek electronic filter wheel to the svbony front holes wise.
The idiots don't test the drivers before they post them?? Thats horrible
Thanks
Koala grey!! 😂😂
Although I doubt there is a SVBony camera in my future, it's great to see companies creating downward price competition in the industry. Win for consumers.
100%. we can only win
ahh i was hopeing for a cheaper full frame mono :( , the q.e chart says 99-100% on green hmm and 88% for red, looks pretty good for a osc
Be interesting if they do a mono version
Thanks for another detailed review, Luca. Very nice to see you tested the heat issue in basically summer evening temperature, so we know what the worst case scenario is until a fix is provided. It's that little bit of extra thought that makes your reviews so interesting👍
It's good that there's more and more choice. However, during the last sale at the end of 2025, I picked up a ToupTek ATR2600C (imx571) for just $1,050, which is truly the best deal on the market today.
Interesting review, had I not invested in ZWO cameras and acessories, I would be looking closely at this camera. I recently bought a ZWO 2600 MC camera, which is in a word, fantastic.
Not so cheap. For the same price you buy the best aps c camera, player one poseidon c. With black friday you can buy the camera, OAG and filter drawer. With tilter in the camera and a really good cooler.
I mean that's the sensor, the IMX571. There's nothing to test isn't it? :-)
yeah that's what you'd think. But then you actually test the camera and find the caveats :D
Was it the default dew heater thats causing the heat issue?
no
