Boost your PixInsight Game with these EASY automation tricks! STEP-BY-STEP Tutorial
If you’re still manually clicking through WBPP in , you’re missing out on some serious time-savers. In this video, I’ll show you how to fully automate your pre-processin...
Could you do a comparison video: pixinsight vs Siril specifically using the Seestar line up this would help an absolute newbie who is buying his first smart telescope the Seestar S30 pro with the only experience being a 10 year old with a simple telescope 58 years ago. I am a pro photographer so some of what you say about focal length and aperture I do understand
Hi Luca, I saw your presentation at NEAIC last year and was very impressed with what you have done. I was also with you in the small group of people waiting for a taxi that never turned up at the end of the day! Anyway, I have been playing with the event script, which is working well in WBPP and am now experimenting with the pipeline builder. My question is, can the pipeline do a ChannelCombination? At the moment I can't see any obvious way to identify the 3 channels to the process.
hey, oh the lovely shuttle incident in the freezing cold, I remember! You could do channel combination by modifying the script and adding it yourself (as you can do anything) but you cannot do it with the no-code version I have done, unfortunately
Thanks for this information, I am now subscribed to your channel for great Tutorials with Pixinsight.
Your videos have quickly become one of my first go to resources for quality information. You explain things very well making it easy (or easier) to understand. Learning this hobby is kind of like drinking from a fire hose. A little overwhelming at times. Your videos have really helped me. Thanks!
Incroyable ! Génial !
Only 1 script is loading currently, the "SendImagetoPhone".
This is very helpful! While cooking doing automatically scripts on Pix workingflow for us it was like a dream. Is Pixinsight changed method to updates scripts? I don't need to write your link depository? Thank you 💫🙏
you'll need to add my repository link to pixinsight to get the scripts shown (as shown in the video)
'll give it a try, thank you @the_space_koala
ew pixinsight. I'm not going to pay for that when Siril/GraXpert/GIMP are all free.
and you don't have to, but why ew
I think the idea of sending event messages and a histo stretch of the final image is so appealing! However, after spending about 5 hours consulting with ChatGPT I just can't get it to work. First it was a curl problem, which I fixed, and it all just kept going downhill from there. I'll try again when I get some time, but pretty disappointed at this stage.
Ahhhh... Per sub gradient removal without having to write scripts. Nice work Space Koala!
Thank you so much for incorporating the audio track function into your video!!! Now I can fully understand this complicated process in my native language. Also, a huge compliment to you for teaching this great automation mode!
I’m glad it’s working now. YouTube decides randomly which videos are translated 😁
Well you keep updating the scripts so I am playing catchup😊, but I added in Pushover notification support as that was the route I went for notification in NINA. Sec is in github but won’t be able to post url here. If you would like to grab it I can post the link as a reply in pixinsight script posts. It’s just a slightly different curl command, no hard work on my part. Excellent work.
When I load the script into the pipeline builder in WBPP it always gives me the message "Script execution failed" in red. I followed all the instructions in the video and tried many solutions without success. I run Pixinsight on a Mac with an M2 processor. Any ideas?
I'm happy to try and help but I'll need more information. Could you send me your setup via email? info at thespacekoala dot com
I really enjoyed watching your video—how in tarnation did you figure all this out? Oh wait, I know, you probably work in tech, but still, it’s impressive! Meanwhile, I’ve been using the ultra “high-tech” method of listening for my PC fans to quiet down to know WBPP is finished. Suddenly, that method feels pretty primitive! Thanks so much for sharing your insights!
I saw a post on the PixInsight forums talking about the Event Script. The idea of using Telegram came from a gentleman called Marco Manenti - I then added the sending of the image, iMessage support and the configuration script. For the Pipeline Builder - as it is entirely undocumented - I had a sample kindly provided to me by the developer - then I made it into the "no code" thing. It's community effort, really :)
@ It’s one of the things I love most about this hobby: the sense of community, where we all grow by building on each other’s experiences and knowledge.
I loaded your script and went through the process of installing it and restarting PI. Now I see your "TheSpaceKoala" folder but when I look in it, the only script I see is the "SendImageToPhone" script which does me no good. I'm on a PC and use an Android phone. There is no Telegram script in the folder. Any ideas?
that sounds right! You use that one to save your settings, then from WBPP you browse the pixinsight scripts folder (as shown in the video at 5:38 ). Since those scripts are not executable standalone, only by WBPP, PixInsight doesn't show them in the menu.
@the_space_koala Thanks! I'll try it tonight. I missed that part of the video.
SENSEI, thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. I'm interested in seeing if there's a script available to develop the images obtained with the S50, as I see you've already mentioned before.
S50 images are like any other, I don't see why they wouldn't work with any "regular" method. The only difficulty could be for larger mosaics if PixInsight has a hard time registering them. Is there any feature you are looking for specifically?
I was able to send messages from Pixinsight to Telegram bot chat but I can't send messages from Pixinsight to a Telegram group. Is there any special parameter to send a message to a group? Thanks.
you would need to figure out the group chat ID somehow and then it should work!
@the_space_koala I solved it! The group chat ID has a minus sign before the number which I ignored.
@fabiomenichella772 yes group chat id's are negative! happy to hear this is resolved
Is there any WBPP script to process images from the Seestsar S50?
what do you need WBPP to do? The regular WBPP should work just fine!
@the_space_koala What I want is to automate the process for image processing taken with the Seestar S50. As I understand it, with the workflow generation script you can automate all processes and send a warning to the mobile with the resulting image. I was asking you if there are any diagrams or steps to automate processing based on what you explain in the video. I hope I explained
@vecasas oh yes I understand, but I think images taken from the seestar are just like any other image and the regular process shown here would work. The only special case I can think of is mosaic mode where we may have to do a specific script, I think I'll try to do that in the near future. But otherwise the regular way should just work. I already have a tutorial on here on manually processing Seestar mosaics in PixInsight.
@the_space_koala what video are you referring to?
@vecasas https://youtu.be/dNhAjZKHWJ8
Thank you! I used it and it works very well the first time. However, even after saving the parameters, when I open the script a second time, the chat ID is somehow reset. Some random negative number pops up and i have to re-enter the id. Also, If I create a new instance out of this and run it on a linear image, the image sent to telegram is unstretched even if i select autostretch when I create the new instance
thank you so much for this! the second one should be fixed now (I already published the update). I am not able to reproduce the first issue. Are you able to tell me a little bit about it?
@the_space_koala Hello. I have the same first issue. I had a look in the .js file and I found DataType_Int32 in the var chatID. My chat ID is something like 8xxxxxxxxx, higher than the int32. So I tried with a lower value for chat ID, and the setting is saved when I open the script again. I'm not a dev but I guess the issue is somewhere around that. Thanks for your great work!
@cedric5089 that's the one! I reproduced the issue! My chat ID is a smaller number and I never ran into this. Thank you so much I'll push the fix right away
this should work now
@the_space_koala Yes, perfect! It’s working well now. Thanks a lot, your script is awesome!
@the_space_koala Yes! Works like a charm. Thank you so much. This is very useful.
This is so awesome!!! How many time I walked back to the computer only to see that it progressed only so much... 🤣
or worse, you leave it there all day thining it's going, but it failed after 1 step :D
