Strawberry moon captured last night

It was lower last year.

@the_space_koala the two years were very similar with this years' full moon declination of -28d54m43.6s and last years' a bit lower at -29d04m36.7s for a difference on 593 arcseconds or about 1/3 moon diameter.

I was checking the max altitude on the day of the full Moon, that's why we got different values, I guess! I did it this way to see what would've been the maximum altitude from my location

The full moon always appears red when it’s rising (low on the horizon) for the same reason sunrise/sunset is red: the atmosphere. These “strawberry moon” etc are just fun names someone made up and it’s not related to the appearance of the Moon. However as soon as the Moon rises higher than a few degrees, you don’t see the reddish hue anymore

Lovely, I tried to capture but got trees all around with buildings, I was able to get a clear visual only after it rose high on skies

Good job! Looks great with the neighbors cherry trees in the way and the lower horizon path I didn't bother trying that's ok I can enjoy other people's. Thank you!🌕🌝
